The back gauge is a critical component of any shear and shearing accuracy is directly related to back gauge repeatability.  

ALLSTEEL's back gauge design incorporates hardened ball screws, recirculating ball nuts, chrome guide bars and linear ball bearings to provide +/- .0001" repeatability.  Back gauge travel is 400 inches per minute and the GOTO design provides maximum productivity and operator convenience.  

The gauge bar automatically withdraws 1/8" during each cycle to allow the part to fall freely and retracts or "disappears" for shearing parts in excess of 36".
