Forming Breakthrough
Now, using a patented forming process in combination with innovative press design, ALLSTEEL is able to provide a tank head system at a price less than 1/2 of conventional systems!
This revolutionary process does not need a female die, and it does not even need a male die; only a ring defining the outside shape of the desired part is required. The clamping force of the press holds the blank, and compressed air does the rest.
A press in the 800T range in combination with ordinary shop air at 100 PSI will form tank heads up to 6' x 10' in 3/16" mild steel, 1/4" aluminum and 10 GA stainless steel. Heavier materials may be formed with higher pressure air and larger press capacities.
Not needing conventional dies means major savings in every part design; not needing a conventional double-action press means more huge savings.
